BLG employees meet ice hockey pros

A chance to get close to one’s favorite players – this wish came true for BLG employees in Bremerhaven at the end of August, when the Fischtown Pinguins team spontaneously dropped by the Auto Terminal.

Where in fact do our fans work? This question was the focus of the visit by the Bremerhaven ice hockey club, which as of this season is playing in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), the highest league in Germany. Coach Thomas Popiesch: “We have a lot of new players on the team this season, such as from the US and Canada. For them in particular it’s interesting to get to know Bremerhaven and its fans better.”

Two of these big fans are Michael Bohn and Marco Kiesner, both drivers at the BLG Auto Terminal in Bremerhaven. Together with other colleagues, they met the team in one of the canteens on the BLG grounds to get autographs on their jerseys, take selfies with the players or wish them lots of success in the first DEL season. “We stand behind the team and hope that our Bremerhaven Fischtown Pinguins will bug the big teams in the league a little bit,” stated Michael Bohn and Marco Kiesner happily after they were able to take a photo together with player Andrew McPherson.

The popular center forward was thrilled about the visit: “My wife used to work here at the terminal, but I never had the opportunity to personally look around. The size is really impressive. And I have the feeling that the spirit in our team is very similar to the solidarity of our fans here.” After the “Meet and Greet” with the BLG fans an exclusive tour of the Auto and Container Terminal also awaited the ice hockey players.
