BLG LOGISTICS presents know-how in Antwerp

Breakbulk Europe numbers among the biggest conference and trade fair events in the bulk goods, logistics and heavy-lift sectors worldwide. This year, too, the international player BLG LOGISTICS is taking part as an exhibitor at Breakbulk Europe in Antwerp. From May 18 to 21, 2015 it presents its high-performance terminals in Bremen and Bremerhaven as well as its versatile know-how in break bulk, ro-ro and XXL logistics under the umbrella brand VIA BREMEN at the joint Bremen booth.

BLG’s break bulk specialists represent Europe’s largest terminal for break bulk cargo in Neustädter Hafen in Bremen. This terminal is able to handle, store and further process all product groups encompassing steel, forest products as well as mechanical and plant engineering. Neustädter Hafen has around 450,000 square meters of outdoor storage space and operational areas as well as around 240,000 square meters of covered warehouse space – capacities that are increasingly utilized by the production industry for large-scale assembly right on waterfront suitable for seagoing vessels.

Every year around 1.2 million tons of rolling “high & heavy” cargo are handled at BLG’s RoRo Terminal at the Bremerhaven Auto Terminal and then transported across the seven seas on large car carriers. The terminal has high & heavy space measuring 340,000 square meters (20,000 square meters of that covered) as well as state-of-the-art cargo handling equipment, such as floating cranes, mobile port cranes, tractor units, reach stackers, etc. The focus is on all types of self-propelled or rolling units. BLG’s automobile logistics network ensures that all major ports around the globe and thus any destination are accessible from Bremerhaven. Over 1,400 car carriers call at Bremerhaven every year.

Thanks to their services in connection with the ABC Peninsula Offshore Terminal in Bremerhaven, BLG’s XXL logistics specialists have established themselves in the offshore wind industry and support the sector with their integrated logistics chains. The range of services also encompasses XXL logistics with self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT). The SPMT vehicles, combinations of the 6-axle SPMT of the 4th generation, have Polyfill tires and can thus take on an up to 20 percent higher axle load than vehicles with conventional tires.

BLG offers its clients comprehensive system services over the entire value added process. By virtue of its needs-oriented value added services and pragmatic solutions, the company can respond flexibly to the respective requirements of its customers.

BLG’s specialists provide information on that, too, at the joint VIA BREMEN booth (912H4) at Breakbulk Europe 2015 in Antwerp.
