Supervisory Board appoints new Labor Director

At its meeting today the Supervisory Board of BREMER LAGERHAUS-GESELLSCHAFT –Aktiengesellschaft von 1877– unanimously appointed Mr. Dieter Schumacher as a member of the Board of Management and Labor Director, effective as of January 1, 2016.

Dieter Schumacher thus succeeds Hartmut Mekelburg, who will retire after nearly 50 years of service to BLG LOGISTICS and ten years as Labor Director on December 31, 2015.

Dieter Schumacher is 59 years old and completed training as a qualified industrial management assistant and subsequently studies of Business Administration.

After his first position as Assistant Labor Director at Stahlwerke Bremen Dieter Schumacher worked as Human Resources Manager for Bremer Strassenbahn AG and later for Stahlwerken Gröditz.

On January 1, 2000 Dieter Schumacher joined BLG LOGISTICS GROUP AG & Co. KG as Human Resources Manager and has held this position down to today.

The Supervisory Board appointed Dieter Schumacher until December 31, 2018.

“We have complied with the proposal of the Nomination Committee with a unanimous vote on the Supervisory Board and are confident that this selection will result in extensive continuity in the position of Labor Director which has such great importance for the company,” said the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Stephan-Andreas Kaulvers, in commenting the appointment.
