BLG enables exploratory journey through Climate House for fourth graders

Go on a trip around the world and get to know the various climate zones of the Earth. Nearly four million visitors have gone on this journey since the opening of the Bremerhaven Climate House in 2009. For school classes, the exhibition is an exciting change to the classroom. Every year more than 100,000 pupils visit the Climate House.

This year, too, BLG LOGISTICS enabled all fourth graders from Bremerhaven to experience the various exhibitions in the Climate House. “We feel it is our social responsibility to provide children with access to knowledge. This joint project with the Climate House is therefore a fixed element of our social commitment,” explains BLG CEO Frank Dreeke the background.

Together with Climate House 8° East, BLG LOGISTICS is inviting youngsters to the world of knowledge and experience for the third year already. Children can devote themselves to complex phenomena like climate, weather and climate change in a playful manner. The exhibition area “Journey” takes the visitor on a journey around the world through the various climate zones. The children wander through nine places on five continents along the eighth degree of longitude and experience the climatic conditions on their own body.

Managing Director Arne Dunker: “Educational work is especially near and dear to us at the Climate House. UNESCO has also recognized this via the special distinction as a place of learning in the World Action Program. Thanks to the joint initiative with BLG, every pupil in Bremerhaven has the opportunity of enjoying this unique world of experience at least once during his or her primary school time. There’s no better way of putting learning as experience into practice!”
