European terminal network
BLG's terminal network includes 20 sites in Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Slovenia and the Ukraine. The seaport terminals on the coast in particular act as hubs and are ports for export of European vehicle production to overseas locations such as China, USA, Australia, South Africa, Russia, and Scandinavia.
As ports of entry, these terminals offer a full range of services for the European vehicle market. Bremerhaven, with more than two million vehicles per year, is one of the largest seaport terminals in Europe.
The terminals in Germany, Poland, Russia, and the Ukraine form important links between production and the customers, ensuring that distribution runs smoothly. All terminals are networked with each other and have intermodal transport connections via truck, railroad, or barge. This ensures end-to-end logistics chains for the customer.
Offshore terminals: Planning, setup, organization, and operation of terminals
As a pioneer in the offshore wind energy industry, BLG set up the heavy load "Offshore Terminal ABC-Halbinsel" on an area of 100,000 m² at the Bremerhaven auto terminal. We set up the terminal operation and, together with partners in advanced training, developed and implemented appropriate qualification measures for our industrial employees. With this terminal, Bremerhaven became well established as the departure point for shipping equipment components for the offshore wind energy industry, and a series of wind farms were meanwhile set up from our terminal. We also operated from EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven and looked after the smooth running of the terminal operation when the wind farm Global Tech I was additionally being set up.
If you are planning a port terminal, want to set up a terminal operation for handling components of installations in the offshore wind energy industry, or are searching for an infrastructure for the interim storage of heavy-duty components, we would be happy to advise you.
Comprehensive services provided by our own technology centers
At the terminals, BLG offers a variety of technical services in the automobile area. These include PDI (pre-delivery inspection), washing and removal of the transport protective film, quality control, interior cleaning, fitting of optional equipment or accessories (e.g. leather upholstery, air conditioning systems, navigation systems), technical modifications (even conversion to liquefied petroleum gas, or the application of underbody protective coating, for example), as well as handling individual customer requests or special editions (e.g. special painting).
We also offer vehicle valuation, preparation of fleets and preparation for rental, and marketing preparation for vehicles (e.g. photo shoots, vehicle auctions).
Cargo handling and storage
Over and above traditional warehouse logistics, we can also offer you global shipping following flexible storage in Bremen (break bulk). We have, for example, a rail network of approximately 18 kilometers available at Neustädter Hafen for this purpose.
For the automobile industry, our space allows us to offer interim storage for new or used vehicles, as well as providing buffer areas for automobile production. We can provide either open or covered storage, and our range of services also includes appropriate stock management.
