BLG LOGISTICS is a seaport and logistics service provider with an international network. In our three operating divisions, we offer our customers in industry and retailing comprehensive logistics services. They range from professional discharging to highly complex greenfield development and everything in between. The BLG AUTOMOBILE and CONTAINER divisions are the leaders in Europe. Our CONTRACT division is among Germany's leading providers. We are proud of our long-lasting partnerships as well as new flagship projects.
The BLG AUTOMOBILE division is the leading technical and logistics service provider for the international automobile industry. In our worldwide AUTOMOBILE network, we handle, transport or technically process more than 4.8 million vehicles per year. This makes BLG LOGISTICS one of Europe's leading automobile logistics companies.
In this area, we use multi-modal types of transport for logistics and link together customized and innovative technical services. Distribution is by truck, railcar and barge. Aside from seaport terminals in Bremen, Bremerhaven, Cuxhaven, Hamburg, and Gdansk, we operate inland terminals on the Rhine and Danube. Our truck fleet bases stretch from Paderborn to Moscow.
BLG AutoRail is a special provider of vehicle transport by rail. The company owns 1,500 open, double-deck railcars, of which 200 are flatbed types. This represents Europe's most modern and versatile equipment. Services cover the entire logistics chain from the manufacturer to the end customer.
We never stand still: The BLG AUTOMOBILE division perfects its logistics network with smart digital solutions and sustainable concepts for climate-friendly transport. For example, we are upgrading our auto terminal in Hamburg into a climate-neutral terminal. We also actively support our customers when it comes to e-mobility. Alongside sustainability, digitalization is the second major future-defining aspect for the automobile and logistics industry. BLG is also active in this area. Together with partners in a joint research project, we have developed complex planning and control tools for automobile terminals.
The CONTRACT division manages complex logistics projects and offers its customers reliable upstream and downstream distribution solutions. We draw on particular expertise and experience in procurement, production and distribution logistics, returns and spare parts logistics, and in the field of forwarding services. We store, transport, pack and unpack. We also process conventional orders and online orders and provide a large variety of value-added services.
As a logistics architect, we draw up plans and concepts for customer-specific logistics solutions and put them into practice with our typical understanding and passion for logistics. Our solutions may be highly automated logistics centers or manual in-house processing. Project management is our core competency.
Our customers are strong industrial and retail brands, medium-sized enterprises and the major German automobile manufacturers as well as many international auto makers. At more than 40 locations in Europe and overseas, we work in our own logistics centers and in our customers' production facilities and warehouses. Whether auto parts, railroad components, sports shoes, printers, fashion, furniture, cookies, bathroom fittings or frozen potato products – our teams of experts put together tailor-made packages for a vast range of goods. We see ourselves and our customers as equal partners. In concrete terms, this means we support them reliably and in confidence– from the very first contact right through to successful, long-lasting cooperation. We listen to our customers, understand their problem and develop the right solution, often innovatively and digitally. This is how we move their company and ours forward into a successful future.
