Coverage by Collective Bargaining Agreements
Vacation pay and Christmas bonuses are benefits provided under the collective bargaining agreement at BLG. You receive collective bargaining-based premiums for shift work, overtime, and night work—no ifs, ands, or buts. This also means that you are paid for every minute you work. You won’t lose out on any benefits. And, of course, the social benefits are clearly outlined for you in the collective bargaining agreement.
Training and Continuing Education
We offer a wide range of continuing education opportunities—from specialized training courses such as load securing to Office and language training, as well as seminars on leadership and interpersonal skills. Ilyas Ryari joined BLG in 2011 through a staffing agency and initially knew little about the company. However, he quickly realized just how large BLG actually is—and that was exactly what appealed to him.
In 2013, he successfully applied for an apprenticeship as a warehouse logistics specialist. During this time, he was supported by a dedicated mentor and subsequently served as chair of the Youth and Apprentice Council (JAV) for two years. For him, it is precisely this close mentoring and the opportunity to represent the interests of apprentices that demonstrate the advantages of BLG’s large corporate structure. After completing his vocational training, BLG offered him the opportunity to transition
to a business-related role—from the warehouse to an office desk. He then pursued continuing education while working, earning a degree in business administration with a focus on international logistics management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
What has had a particularly profound impact on Ilyas Ryari is that he started at BLG as an unskilled worker and, step by step, new opportunities opened up for him. For him, this is exactly what sets BLG apart as an employer: the willingness to actively shape change, recognize potential, and foster development—from an entry-level industrial role all the way to positions of responsibility.
Dual Study Program
Students in the field of logistics can gain practical experience with us—through an internship or in combination with a thesis. Voluntary internships typically last 2–3 months, while mandatory internships last 6 months. We are also happy to supervise theses and have had very positive experiences with the combination of an internship and a thesis.
Corporate Fitness
We want you to stay healthy. That’s why we partner with gyms and health centers to help our employees get fitter in a variety of ways—and as affordably as possible. For a small flat fee—which can be canceled monthly—we offer a wide selection of fitness clubs, swimming pools, and bouldering gyms, depending on your region. This way, you can start training for our (of course, voluntary) company runs.

A bicycle is often an unbeatable mode of transportation: flexible, fuel-free, healthy, and easy to park. In the spirit of sustainability, we want to make company bicycles available to as many employees as possible—including for personal use. You can choose from over 2,000 high-quality bicycles and e-bikes at significantly reduced prices.

With a strong network in Germany and around the world, BLG LOGISTICS is always where efficient supply chains are created. At nearly 100 locations in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia, we develop customized logistics solutions for industry and retail—working closely with our customers, with an international network, and with over 11,000 employees on the job every day.
Our Locations
Those who are not tied to a specific location can also support BLG elsewhere—for example, by helping to establish new branches or at international locations such as South Africa. Experienced employees contribute their expertise there and support new colleagues on site. The network of locations also offers security: If a location is closed, we try to place employees at other locations—provided they wish to do so. No one is left on their own.

During our regular feedback sessions, we find out: Where do our employees stand, how do they see themselves, and in what direction do they want to grow? Feedback isn’t a one-way street for us: We also ask our colleagues to assess themselves and think about their development goals. Together, we discuss how we can achieve those goals.

If it were up to us: Promotion comes before hiring. Whenever possible, we fill new leadership roles internally with BLG colleagues who are eager to take on more responsibility. Because the same principle applies here: Any specific expertise that might still be lacking for a new role can be learned.
