On 1 May 2025, Daniel Hosseus will assume the newly created position of Executive Vice President Global Public Affairs at BLG LOGISTICS. With this function, BLG is specifically strengthening its political presence at national and international level. The aim is to further expand the strategic representation of the company's interests and to actively help shape key issues of the future.
Daniel Hosseus has extensive experience in political communication and lobbying within the maritime industry. In his previous roles in Europe and North America, he has dealt intensively with political decision-making processes, regulatory frameworks and industry-specific challenges.
“With Daniel Hosseus, we are gaining an expert with experience in the political arena who not only understands political processes, but can actively help shape them,“ says Matthias Magnor, Chief Executive Officer of BLG LOGISTICS GROUP AG & Co. KG. “He brings with him in-depth industry knowledge and networks in Berlin and Brussels that have grown over many years - these will help us to strengthen our position in an increasingly complex political environment.“
In his new role, Daniel Hosseus will focus on various strategic areas. These include the targeted expansion of political relations in Germany and abroad. “I am very much looking forward to my new role at BLG. The opportunity to further develop the strategic representation of the interests of a strong company and to actively represent the political issues of a company with a presence in Europe, America, Africa and Asia is an exciting challenge,“ says Daniel Hosseus.
Daniel Hosseus is moving from his previous position as Managing Director of the Central Association of German Seaport Operators (ZDS), which he has held since 2014. During his eleven years in office, he played a key role in shaping the direction of the association and successfully championed the interests of the German seaports. Under his leadership, the perception of the seaport industry was sustainably strengthened both in Berlin and in Brussels.
Before joining the ZDS, Daniel Hosseus worked at the German Shipowners' Association (VDR) for 13 years. There he represented the interests of shipowners vis-à-vis the EU institutions in Brussels, among others. His extensive experience in political dialogue and his sound understanding of economic and regulatory contexts make him a valuable asset to BLG LOGISTICS.
