The new inland terminal in Ahlhorn began operations on July 1, 2025. Covering approximately 35 hectares, the site will offer up to 15,700 parking spaces in the medium term. In addition, it provides extensive development opportunities. The premises, located in the Metropolpark Hansalinie on the grounds of the former airbase, have been leased on a long-term basis.
Strategically situated along the European north-south corridor, the site boasts excellent connections to the A1 and A29 highways. The road and rail networks ensure quick access to German and Dutch ports.
A key component of the site strategy is sustainability. Plans include the use of green electricity, modern heat pump technology, and a photovoltaic system on the hall roof. By 2026, a technical center will be established to provide additional innovation and further strengthen the site technologically. This step will complete the full expansion of the terminal.
Sustainable! As a responsible company, we recycle our water. Specifically, we recycle so much water that all work at the terminal only requires a 14% share of fresh water.
