Arlene Bühler becomes CIO of BLG

Starting November 1, 2025, Arlene Bühler will take over as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and head of IT for the BLG Group. With her appointment, BLG gains a leader with over 20 years of international experience in IT-driven business transformation, strategic restructuring, and change management.

Together with Arlene Bühler, BLG will take significant steps forward in the areas of digitalization and automation: "Throughout her career, Ms. Bühler has repeatedly demonstrated her ability to lead complex organizations to sustainable success with high commitment, strategic foresight, and a strong sense of customer engagement," emphasizes Matthias Magnor, CEO of BLG LOGISTICS. "We are very pleased to have Arlene Bühler as our new CIO and innovation driver for BLG."

For Bühler, the most important task is bringing employees along on the digitalization journey. "It’s not just about IT—it’s about how we can create real value for the business together with digital solutions," she emphasizes.

The 2022 CIO of the Year is moving from DB Cargo AG to the Weser. As Chief Information & Chief Digital Officer at DB Cargo AG, she led the IT and digitalization division. In this role, she was responsible for the company's digital transformation and managed key initiatives to modernize the IT infrastructure. Under her leadership, an agile product organization was established, cloud-based platforms were introduced, and innovative AI-driven solutions for customer management, planning, and scheduling were implemented. Her ability to integrate technology as a core component of corporate strategy and connect it with cultural change made her the driving force behind DB Cargo's successful digital transformation.

The business economist with a focus on business informatics has had a career that includes positions at Deutsche Bahn, the Volkswagen Group, and SIEMENS before joining the BLG Group.
