We also load heavy goods and break bulk loads such as heavy packages or rail vehicles, e.g. subway trains and locomotives, onto trailers. At the BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven, a wide range of heavy, large and complex
units are handled, stored and processed. These include commercial and specialpurpose
vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery, heavy self-propelled
units, rail vehicles, wind energy components, large-scale components, as well as
self-propelled project cargo and project cargo moved on roll trailers. The handling
method is selected according to the specific characteristics of the cargo.

A specialised in-house equipment pool is available in Bremerhaven for handling heavy and complex cargo. This includes mobile harbour cranes with lifting capacities of up to 154 tonnes, reach stackers with lifting capacities of up to 80 tonnes, modular SPMT axle lines for particularly heavy and large-scale cargo, as well as additional towing, lifting and handling equipment. For additional project requirements, BLG LOGISTICS can coordinate mobile cranes, crawler cranes and floating cranes with lifting capacities of up to 600 tonnes.
Yes. Around 220,000 square metres of quayside storage space are available for High & Heavy goods and project cargo in the Nordhafen and Kaiserhafen areas. Approximately 15,000 square metres of this space are covered. At the Roter Sand site in the Südhafen area, a further 60,000 square metres of handling, storage and technical service areas complement the available space. In addition to open and covered temporary storage, BLG LOGISTICS provides cargo care, inventory management and the preparation of cargo for shipment or onward transport into
the hinterland.
Bremerhaven combines international deep-sea and short-sea RoRo services with quayside storage and handling areas, a specialised equipment pool, and road and rail connections. This allows heavy, large and complex units to be handled, temporarily stored, technically processed and prepared for shipment or onward transport at a single location. The high & heavy terminal is the central MAFI packing station for the world's largest ro-ro shipowners such as WWL, EUKOR, Hyundai GLOVIS, ARC, K-Line, Höegh, MOL, Bahri and NYK. In parallel with the overseas traffic, diverse feeder services also call at Bremerhaven. These include KESS, Mann Lines and UECC. Another key area of activity is the loading and unloading of barges, coasters, trucks and rail cars. Break bulk ships can also be handled at our high & heavy terminal.

The High & Heavy Terminal offers you first-class connections via road, rail, and waterways. BLG LOGISTICS coordinates customised handling and transport concepts in line with the specific customer and project requirements. Our dedicated team operates in two shifts on weekdays and also provides an early shift on Saturdays. For maximum flexibility, we can arrange night shifts upon request to meet your needs. Within the port, transshipment loads can be moved e.g. to the container terminal without using public roads. A 100-ton port truck crane and four reach stackers with a capacity of up to 80 tons are available for handling rail cars, generators, wind energy components or similar project cargoes. Furthermore, we can at any time make use of truck cranes with high capacities of up to 500 tons or a 600-ton floating crane. Our service range also includes assembly and disassembly work of all kinds, seaworthy packing, paintwork, preserving work and treatment of loads from Australia and New Zealand with sulfuryl fluoride to eliminate brown marmorated stink bug as well as washing large equipment in accordance with DAWR standards.
